What is Geo-Targeting?
Also known as: Geolocation Targeting
Selecting a proxy IP from a specific country, city, or region.
Geo-targeting is the ability to choose where your proxy IP appears to originate — by country, city, or ISP. It is essential for collecting localized data: search results, ad placements, prices, and content frequently differ by location. With Aethyn, geo-targeting is encoded directly in the proxy username, so you can route a request through, say, a German residential IP simply by adjusting your credentials, with city and ISP precision available on the Elite tier.
